About the website

Hello and welcome!  My name is Muhammad Ahmedullah.  I am originally from Bangladesh but have lived in London since my childhood.  I completed my studies at Essex University and the University of Kent in the UK.  Since 1989 I have worked in a number of inner-city economic and social regeneration programmes in London, developing specialism incommunity empowerment and development methods.

I have developed the culturalparadise website to celebrate the cultures and diversity of humanity and colours and beauty of the world.  Planet Earth is beautiful and awe inspiring due to nature’s work and human creativity.

Today more and more people are travelling and experiencing cultures of others around the world.  The ability to enjoy and share cultural experiences also comes from the internet and from growing diversity within countries and cities around the world.  However, what comes from living within greater diversity of cultures in major cities is limited due to the absence of context, which one can only get by travelling.  The potential experience that internet can provide is still developing and culturalparadise is a contribution in this regard.

A particular focus of culturalparadise will be on native, small-island and marginalised people’s cultures around the world, as they are usually less well known and appreciated by the wider communities around the globe.

In general only certain sections of people from a number of developed nations have good connections with such communities due to colonial and / or historical reasons and they maximise their benefits from the links and resulting interactions.  Through highlighting and sharing cultural treasures of such people more widely there will develop greater levels and channels of communication and connectivity between peoples of the world.

The website was launched in July 2009 and is still in the process of development.  More and more things are being added on its pages regularly.  You are invited to interact with me and provide feedback so that I can to continue to develop the website and make it more user-friendly.  Please keep on visiting and engaging with me regularly and experience how beautifully culturalparadise develops.
